What I chose from this week’s reading is the Critical
Thinking in Action on page 245. This article talks about how credit card
companies are trying to sign up college students for all sorts of new credit
cards. People between ages 18-29 are signing up for these credit cards thinking
that they’re gift cards. They forget to pay back what they borrowed at the end
of the month and end up with a very poor credit as well as a large debt.
The article challenges students to think about the repercussions
of all their actions. Thinking ahead and knowing the consequences can really
help students avoid digging themselves into a hole of debt that they can’t get
out of. This article is informative and helps the reader to be more aware of
their decisions. A student loan would most likely be better for a student trying
to pay off their college tuition.
